I have been ‘indulging’ to a new game lately. Currently still under ‘Closed Beta’, Rakion (
http://www.rakion.com/) is the new kid in the town to MMORPG world. Unlike other MMORPG, the game play is very much similar to Quake III except guns are replaced by sword. That is why
http://www.softnyx.net/ actually published the game under real time strategy combat action game.
There are 5 types of character to be chosen from, the sword man, the mage, the ninja, the archer and the blacksmith with each has their strengths and weaknesses.
Totally different with other MMORPG such as ROSE (
http://www.roseon.com) where you are required to ‘slash and hack’ creatures or monsters, in Rakion, you actually have a choice to deal with monster or face off with other player.
There are a total of 4 types of game play:
1.The StageThis is where you should start your game if you are a noob. You are required to complete the stage in a certain time to gain gold and experience. Yes, there is experience involved, meaning that you can fight all day to level up. Quite a number of stages and you will need to party up later in the ‘tougher’ stage
2.Golem WarMy favourite! Here, the players are divided into 2 teams; blue and reds and each team have one master golem. There is a neutral gold golem in the middle of the map. Your task to kill the gold golem to get the gold sword that will enable you to kill the opposition master golem.
3.Death Match Team PlaySame as Golem war where the players are divided into 2 teams but simpler and more straight forward. Just kill off the enemies.
4.Death Match SoloFree For All. Kill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As the game is still under ‘Closed Beta’, watch out for the release soon. The game is kind of buggy here and there but they are patching it now. Hopefully by the time they release it, they could clear all the bug. Rakion is a high quality game but I doubt that it can survive long enough for the hardcore because of their limited ‘stage’ levels.
Well, I'm copying with other people, but I donot make this post just steal and hack, but i will ask a permission.
